Water The Land

from Sketchbook by David Woodman

/

about

Written after a prayer meeting at Bury Christian Fellowship in 2011, where Isaiah 35 was read out and prayed through.

lyrics

There’s a voice in the wilderness
Crying out for mercy.
There are seeds hidden deep below
Longing to bloom.
Feeble hands needing strength,
Fearful hearts needing words of peace.

We will wait for you,
We will pray to you
And we’ll water the land with our tears
‘Til your Spirit pours out on the desert.
We’ll cry out in faith to you, Jesus.
You have the words of life.

There’s a desert of burning sand
Thirsty for water.
There are people without a voice
Who long to shout for joy.
Blinded eyes that want to see,
Deafened ears that need to hear your truth.

We will wait for you,
We will pray to you
And we’ll water the land with our tears
‘Til your Spirit pours out on the desert.
We’ll cry out in faith to you, Jesus.
You have the words of life.

We prophesy:
Be strong your God will come.
Be strong, he’ll come and save you.
Come and walk the way of holiness,
Come and walk the way of holiness.
Be strong your God will come,
Your God will come.
