about

This song was inspired by one of Malcolm Duncan's Niteblessings, which he shares on Facebook. As soon as I read it, the chorus (lyrics and melody) popped into my head and I finished the song within an hour.

lyrics

Darkness falls
Feels like the night's closing in.
Sadness grows
And the lights start to dim.
When all you see is what's been lost
It's hard to think about tomorrow.

When life drags you down,
Hold on to hope.
When you're scared that you'll drown,
May faith throw a rope.
When you feel there's no song to sing,
I pray you'll find your melody again.

Darkness lies,
Tells you it's already won,
But watch the skies,
You'll see the first rays of sun.
'Cause every storm runs out of rain.
There'll be an end to all your sorrow.

May the grace of God fill your soul
With a symphony of hope.
May his strength and love be your song
'Cause I know that he'll be there to cast your cares upon.
