This was written in 2008 and whilst I'm fairly happy with most of it, some people have told me they wonder if the main idea that God is all I need suggests a kind of selfish, isolated faith.
We're called to be involved in the world and to relate to people.
'm still working on how to do that well, just as I'm working on expressing the idea that every good and perfect gift comes from God without implying that I can therefore ignore everyone else.
lyrics
Every good and perfect gift
comes down from you, Father of lights.
You never change
You're my strong tower,
My shelter from the darkest storm.
You are all I need
You are all I need
Grace by which I'm saved,
love that sets me free.
All that I am,
all that I'll ever be
is safe within your hands,
for you are all I need.
Blessings, glory, honour and power
belong to you, O Lamb of God.
Noone can close
a door you open.
You hold the keys to death and life.
I need eyes to see and ears to hear,
Sweet Spirit of the Lord, draw near.
In your strength I'll overcome.
